Advanced Foldforming Techniques
Foldforming is a fascinating departure from traditional metalsmithing techniques. This is an in-depth class for learning the basic folds of foldforming, including: single, double, triple, tee, wedge, boat, and cross folds. You will also learn how to “fold forge” (hammering), and forge a leaf, Rueger, Romero, cuff, and pleated folds. You will also learn to soften copper with a torch, cut copper with shears, fire paint copper, and apply protective coatings. By the end of the two days, you will have finished several unique jewelry pieces. (Students should be confident using a metalsmithing hammer.) Material Fee includes: Copper sheet, copper wire, jump rings, copper ball chain, protective clear coats and use of all metalsmithing tools. Extra copper will be available for sale if needed.Class size 10Level Intermediate and aboveInstructor: Greg GreenwoodLearn more: https://shakeragalley.org/product/26r0725j/If the workshop you're interested in is sold out, you can join the waitlist here: https://shakeragalley.org/workshops/
