              Mineral Point has been called ''The Most Cornish Town in America.'' The Southwest WI Cornish Society was formed in 1991 to raise public awareness of the influence of early Cornish immigrants on the Old Lead Region in general and the city of Mineral Point in particular. Every year on the last weekend of September the Society hosts the Cornish Festival in a celebration of all things Cornish.
