    About Us

Discover Wisconsin’s oldest surviving railroad depot! Built in 1856 from locally sourced materials, the Mineral Point Depot stands as a proud testament to the state’s rich railroading history. Thanks to the dedication of the Mineral Point Railroad Society, which was formed in 2000, this historic landmark has been lovingly restored and is now home to a vibrant railroad museum.

Since reopening to the public on September 2nd, 2004, the museum offers an engaging glimpse into the past. Come explore 10am-4pm, Thursday through Sunday, from May to October, and immerse yourself in the fascinating world of railroad heritage. Whether you're a history buff or a curious traveler, the Mineral Point Depot is a must-see destination!
