Watercolor Biomorphic
Explore abstraction with simplified flora shapes, textures, and colors. Watercolors that are dropped-in provide harmonious glowing fusions of color on paper. Dropped-in color refers to a loaded brush with water and paint. The brush just touches the wet paper surface, and paint will spread incredible fusions of color with hardly any effort at all. We’ll also experiment with watercolor inks and dry pigments, including a spattering technique. We’ll use linen threads bits also to add linear mark making, opaque pigments to overlay and simplify, and negative painting. Let the journey begin by combining paint, water, and imagination. Materials Fee includes: Watercolor inks, painters tape, dry pigments including earth and iridescent colors (from the small southern France village of Roussillon that I bought on one of my travel adventures!), and opaque watercolors.Class size 18Level Beginner and aboveInstructor: Helen Shafer GarciaLearn more: https://shakeragalley.org/product/26r0530l/If the workshop you're interested in is sold out, you can join the waitlist here: https://shakeragalley.org/workshops
