Create Sparkling Dichroic Glass Beads in the Flame
Discover the magic of working with fire and glass as you learn to make color-shifting, radiant beads using dichroic (dicro) glass—a mesmerizing metal-oxide coated glass known for its shimmering, holographic colors. In this hands-on class, you’ll melt and shape COE 104 glass rods in the torch flame, then layer in clear and black dichroic glass to create beads that sparkle with depth and brilliance. We’ll explore techniques for safely applying and encasing dicro, controlling color shifts, and achieving that luminous “glow from within” that makes dichroic beads truly irresistible. Perfect for bead makers with a little experience wanting to add dazzling new effects to their work. Materials fee includes: clear dichroic glass, black dichroic glass, all torch, tools, and COE 104 materials needed.Class size 7Level Beginner and aboveStudent Supply List Please tie long hair back and secure it.
