Blacksmithing for Beginners: Fire and Hammers
Have you ever wanted to dip your toes (metaphorically … no actual toe-dipping allowed) into the world of blacksmithing? Join us for two days of fire and hammers. Learn the basics of blacksmithing using a gas forge. Learn tapers, curls, twists, and shaping red-hot metal into functional tool or art. Time allowing, we’ll be making a triangle to call family and friends to dinner, an S-hook to hang your favorite planter, a bottle opener to use on your favorite bottled beverage, and an oriole feeder. These are the exact projects that got me into the art of blacksmithing. Come join the fun! (Again … no actual toe-dipping … fire … hot …) Materials Fee includes: Stock steel of various dimensions. Small chain. Welding suppliesClass size 8Level Novice and above
