50th Anniversary of Mineral Point's National Register Historic District
On July 30, 1971, Mineral Point was the first city in Wisconsin to be listed on the national register of historic places. To celebrate the 50th anniversary, the Mineral Point Chamber of Commerce has organized an informal party at Orchard Lawn, 234 Madison St., starting at 7 p.m. on Friday, July 30. The event kicks off with a brief program about the historical significance followed by a performance by Point Five. The Chamber will also provide cake and ice cream for guests and have some games available on the lawn. A small selection of merchandise will be available for sale as a fundraiser for the Chamber.
