    Schedule Change:

    • No change

    Traffic Control:

    • Contractor has been providing traffic control near the areas where materials are being stored and construction is occurring. Currently these areas are Commerce Street, Nichols Street, High Street, Vine Street and Jail Alley.
    • Please follow road closed/traffic control signage.  The project area is closed to thru traffic and has one lane open for emergency vehicles only.
    • No parking is allowed on Commerce Street (Fountain Street – STH ‘23’/’39’), Nichols Street, High Street (Chestnut Street – Commerce Street), Jail Alley (Chestnut Street – Vine Street), Vine Street (High Street – Doty Street), and Chestnut Street (High Street – Doty Street).
      • Parking lot at NW corner of Commerce Street/Doty Street will remain accessible.
      • Parking lot between Vine Street and Commerce Street south of High Street will remain accessible.

     

    Contractor’s Schedule (items started/completed):

    • Concrete sidewalk has been poured on Vine Street (Doty Street – High Street).
    • Concrete sidewalk has been poured on High Street (Vine Street – Commerce Street).
    • Water Street, Nichols Street, and the Commerce/HWY ‘23’ intersection final surface is planned to be paved Friday (5-26-2023).
    • Jail Alley and Vine Street binder surface is planned to be paved Friday (5-26-2023).
    • Water Main installation has been completed on Chestnut Street (High Street – Doty Street).

     

    Contractor’s Schedule (two-week outlook):

    • Week of May 29th
      • Contractor intends to pour concrete pavement on High Street (Commerce Street – Vine Street) on Wednesday and Thursday.
        • Once concrete has been poured, it will need to be barricaded off for approximately 7 days in order to sufficiently cure.
      • Contractor to begin installation of Water Main on High Street from Henry Street – Doty Street.
      • Contractor to begin installation of storm sewer on High Street (Vine Street – Chestnut Street).
        • During the storm sewer installation, the north side of High Street (Chestnut Street – Vine Street) will have majority of the existing sidewalk removed.
      • Contractor to begin Water Service replacements on Chestnut Street (Jail Alley – Doty Street).  Individual property owners shall be given a 24-hour notice.
        • During the water service replacement, homeowners/business owners can expect their water to be off for no longer than a few hours.
      • Contractor to continue Water Service replacements on High Street (Vine Street – Chestnut Street).  Individual property owners shall be given a 24-hour notice.
        • During the water service replacement, homeowners/business owners can expect their water to be off for no longer than a few hours.
      • Contractor to begin Water Service replacements on High Street (Chestnut Street – Henry Street).  Individual property owners shall be given a 24-hour notice.
        • During the water service replacement, homeowners/business owners can expect their water to be off for no longer than a few hours.
    • Week of June 5th
      • Contractor to continue Water Service replacements on High Street (Chestnut Street – Henry Street).  Individual property owners shall be given a 24-hour notice.
        • During the water service replacement, homeowners/business owners can expect their water to be off for no longer than a few hours.
      • Contractor to begin removals and initial grading on High Street (Vine Street – Chestnut Street)
        • This will include removal of all asphalt, curb & gutter, and sidewalk.

    Miscellaneous Items:

    • A construction progress meeting will be held Thursday, June 8th at 9 AM at City Hall.  This meeting is open to the public.

    Surveying:

    • Delta 3 Engineering will be on site to continue staking the proposed utilities/street for the project.
    • Please do not disturb these markers.
