Makers & Shakers Art Party: Embroidered Clothing Embellishment

Have you noticed how a lot of the spring fashions are embellished with embroidery? Come and learn how you can make something you own already “look new again”!

We will first practice designs on paper to develop muscle memory. Then we will be using a water erasable pen to draw a design of each stitcher’s choice on their clothing piece. After being embroidered, this “pattern” will then be rinsed off to reveal the maker’s work. You will have a stitch diagram to take home and can use that for reference of stitch ideas. You might not finish your work during class but will go home with all the embroidery floss needed to complete the design. Zann will provide needles, embroidery floss (extensive color palette available), pattern ideas, and stitch diagrams.
