DESCRIPTION:Looking for a historical house tour? Look no further! Enjoy an hour long tour of beautiful Orchard Lawn   a lovely 1868 historic home on nine acres\, which includes gardens and an arboretum.\n\n\n\nThe building\, once home to the Gundry family\, was built in the Italianate style and features a beautiful\, expansive front porch\, tall arched windows and a distinctive belvedere. The front door\, set between stained glass windows\, opens to a foyer with a grand staircase. A library\, formal parlor\, and dining room feature high ceilings\, elaborate woodwork\, historic furniture and artifacts. After numerous restorations\, the entire 9-acre estate remains as beautiful today as it was at the turn-of-the 20th Century. Guests can enjoy rotating exhibits each summer. In 2025\, expect to see the newest exhibit: "In the Service of the Gundrys" a collection of photos and stories about the men and women who tended to the needs of the Gundry family   their daily life in the house\, the servant spaces\, and how they interacted with the Gundry family. \n\n\n\nSchedule:\n\n  Tour season runs from May 23 - October 26\n\n  Fridays\, Saturdays & Sundays from 12pm - 4pm.\n\n  Tours depart on the hour (12:00\, 1:00\, 2:00\, 3:00\, 4:00). Please wait on the front porch of the house for your tour to begin. \n\n\n\nAdmission:\n\nAdults: $10\n\nChildren 12-18: $5\n\nUnder 12: Free\n\nMPHS Members: Free\n\n\n\nAccessibility:\n\nThe first floor of the home is wheelchair accessible via the ramp at the rear of the building.\n\n\n\nPlease note:\n\nOrchard Lawn is also an event venue that's closed to the public on days when the site is booked/reserved for private weddings and events. In 2025 the house and lawns will be closed to the public on August 2\, October 4\, and October 11.
