On \;Saturday\, December 16 \;at 7:30 pm we welcome\, not one\, but two Minnesota-based folk bands. \;Good Morning Bedlam \;is known for its energetic folk-rock and \;Humbird \;is known for her warm and unexpected folk. Advance tickets are $25 and $30 on the day of the show. Tickets go on sale for \;Friends of the MPOH \;on July 10 and for the general public on July 24. Doors will open at 6:30 pm.

\n\nGood Morning Bedlam is the folk-rock band from Minneapolis\, MN. In 2019 they claimed the first-place title at the John Hartford Memorial Festival Band Competition\, and were finalists at the NWSS Band Competition. Their shows are known for their wild energy and stunning harmonies. GMB has played at festivals alongside artists such as Shakey Graves\, Sam Bush\, Jason Isbell\, The Infamous Stringdusters\, Trampled By Turtles and others. In 2021 GMB ran a successful Kickstarter in July of 2021 for their much anticipated third full-length record &lsquo\;Lulu&rsquo\; where fans from around the world pledged a total of $34\,000. GMB has been featured on Bluegrass Today\, Relix Magazine\, Glide Magazine\, and Paste Magazine. Now in 2023 the band is gearing up to release a brand new EP titled \;Dear Day\, Dear Darling \;in the Fall of this year.

Inspired by the crystalline chill of the north country she calls home in Minnesota\, Humbird combines a wintry longing with the warmth of a familiar folktale. Humbird&rsquo\;s music moves between experimental folk and environmental Americana to embrace the unexpected. The music invites a refreshing dissonance into the house. It leaves bread crumbs along the path and reflects light back at the stars.
\n\nSiri Undlin witnessed the power of storytelling in her childhood home and began writing music and performing in church choirs and in Irish ensembles from a young age. Her voice\, which contains the unwavering fortitude of hymnal melodies\, reveals her traditional background. \;
\n\nIn 2019\, Humbird released the critically acclaimed\, debut full-length\, \;Pharmakon\, \;which introduced us to Humbird&rsquo\;s songcraft and harmonic folk style. With \;Folk Alley \;calling the album &ldquo\;&hellip\; an absolutely hypnotic listening experience.&rdquo\; \;Atwood Magazine \;described it as music wrapped in &ldquo\;gentle rebellion&rdquo\;. The release garnered millions of online streams and a wide range of accolades\, including \;89.3FM The Current&rsquo\;s \;&ldquo\;Best Local Albums Of The Year&rdquo\;\, one of \;City Page&rsquo\;s \;&ldquo\;Picked To Click&rdquo\; Awards\, &ldquo\;Best Minnesota Albums&rdquo\; from the \;Star Tribune\, \;and as an official showcasing artist at \;SXSW \;in Austin. \;
\n\nMost recently\, the material on Humbird&rsquo\;s sophomore record \;Still Life \;(October 2021) has already received enthusiastic praise from within the folk world &ndash\; awarded as one of \;Kerrville Folk Fest&rsquo\;s New Folk winners for 2021.
