SUMMARY:40th Annual Bike-A-Thon
DESCRIPTION:BETHEL HORIZONS MARKS 40 YEARS OF PEDALING FOR A PURPOSE. Bethel Horizons is celebrating a big milestone announcing its 40th Annual Bike-A-Thon\, scheduled for Saturday\, June 7\, 2025\, from 9:00 am to 2:00 pm. This landmark event invites participants to bike or walk along the picturesque Military Ridge Trail in Mount Horeb\, Wisconsin\, to raise funds for the organization's Adventure and Environmental Education programs. "We can see firsthand how kids thrive when they unplug from their devices and step into nature. Whether they're biking or climbing\, they gain confidence\, build friendships\, and develop a deep appreciation for the outdoors." said Eric Knueve\, Executive Director. "If a child can learn something by being outside\, we view it as our obligation to the community to be able to provide meaningful experiences in nature for thousands of students each year." Bethel Horizons has a rich history of connecting individuals with nature through immersive educational experiences. Their Environmental Education programs offer hands-on opportunities for students to explore the Driftless Area\, engaging in activities such as live animal interactions\, pond studies\, nature hikes\, and cliff exploration. In addition\, their Adventure Programs provide transformative outdoor experiences that challenge participants physically and mentally such as mountain biking\, climbing\, and swimming. These programs aim to foster a deeper understanding and appreciation of the natural world. Since 1985\, the Bike-A-Thon is free to participate in\, with no admission or registration fees. Participants are encouraged to seek pledges or sponsors to raise donations to bring to the event\, with all funds directly supporting this year's initiatives of new climbing equipment\, care for the Nature Center's critters\, and maintenance of our popular mountain biking trails. Following the Bike-A-Thon\, Bethel Lutheran Church will host a Community Picnic and Worship Service at Bethel Horizons in Dodgeville. Dinner starts at 5 pm and the Worship Service at 6 pm. All are welcome." About Bethel Horizons: Established in 1969\, Bethel Horizons is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization dedicated to fostering a better understanding of God\, self\, others\, and nature.
