ROWE'S ROCK COTTAGE SHOPS: Two historic limestone buildings. “The Dalesman’s Diggings”, on Commerce Street displays primitive and formal furniture, art, and decorative household items in a cottage setting. Rowe’s on Jail Alley, on the brick walkway behind the Royal Hotel is a snug little shop, now undergoing restoration, to re-open in Spring 2006 to display furniture and lots of “Artifacts and Odditiies”.
