Gallery Night, a city-wide celebration of art, is an event
that focuses on one of the key elements that distinguish this small
city – the creative community. Here, artists and gallery owners
offer a remarkable assortment of fine art and quality hand-made craft.
You will find basketry, ceramics, collage, furniture,glass, jewelry, painting, photography,
printmaking, sculpture, weaving, and woodworking – much of it
made right in town.Most of the galleries are located in the compact
downtown business district.With its historic architecture, deliciousdining venues, and engaging galleries, walking from place to place on
Gallery Night gives visitors the authentic Mineral Point experience.
The first Saturday in August is
the third Gallery Night of the year. Most shops and
galleries will be open until 9 pm.

Fine American traditional and contemporary arts and crafts, including
weaving, pewter, jewelry, ceramics, paper products, and other hand-made
objects, all carefully displayed in a wonderfully restored 1876
building.
Brewery Pottery Studio - 276 Shake

A full selection of hand-made pottery by Tom and Diana Johnston, along
with carefully selected two- and three-dimensional works in many media
by a huge number of regional artists.
Chestnut Hill Studio - at Howdle Studios,

Featuring original watercolor paintings, prints and postcards by Jan
Johnson, whose themes revolve around an intimate acquaintance with the
world of plants. James Johnson works in acrylics and found material to
create colorful abstract expressionist works for the modern taste.

Paintings of traditional Scandinavian textiles by Richard Moninski,
patterned paper mache' sculptures by Carole Spelic', and additional
works by a select group of artists are on view in this classy gallery,
creatively carved from an 1870's hotel addition.

On view are many types of world textiles, ethnic art and artifact that
include words and letters, collected or created by Jamie Ross. Take
advantage of the space being open to the public on Gallery Night! Other
times, the works are visible from the street through the storefront
windows.

This cooperative gallery features the work of its talented group of
current members. Many media are represented, including ceramics,
painting, fiber, jewelry, collage, photography, and mixed materials.
Enjoy the intimate atmosphere of this historic 1800's space.

Visit the working studio and gallery showroom of sculptor Bruce Howdle.
His loosely representational ceramics range from amusing yet functional
mugs to three-dimensional sculptural creatures (such as birds, turtles
and pigs) to full-wall sized relief murals.

Over 160 regional and nationally known artists create an extensive and
